Hi there!

My name is Daphne, I am a twenty-one-year-old master Architecture student at the Technical University in Delft. Since I was a little girl I have always been interested in buildings, both inside and outside. After I completed my Bachelor degree last year, the choice to pick the Master track of Architecture was quite easy. For me, the most valuable thing about being a designer is to make others happy and realize their dreams.

I am a perfectionist who loves to be outside, explore the world, go on city trips and make beautiful pictures. I enjoy photographing, being creative in different kind of ways, and doing sports. At the age of nine, I started playing Baton Twirling, an unknown sports for many people. The more I practiced, the better I got. When I was ten years old, my team and I won the National Championships and were invited to participate in the European Championship to represent The Netherlands. We became second of Europe and from that moment it all began. In the last 11 years, I had the honor to compete in several National and International tournaments all over the world. Most of the time with great luck! The one medal that made my dream come true, was the gold medal we won during the World Championships in April 2018.

Baton Twirling taught me how to be a go-getter, to be someone that never gives up when things get hard. It also taught me how to be a team player and showed me how important it is to work together as one team to achieve dreams. In addition, being an athlete requires a lot of responsibilities. I had to be a good planner, able to make the right choices and perform under high pressure. Through these qualities, Baton Twirling has a similar approach, as to Architecture.
